LGS (FSD) Open House'16

Co-curricular activities in the schools are very important for students and for the faculty members as well. Students get bore from their daily school life and teachers get tired by teaching the same subject and checking the notebooks. So yesterday I have attended the “Open House” of Lahore Grammar School, Canal Campus (boys wing), Faisalabad. Well to get started I would like to tell u guys that what basically Open House is, it is an annual class project show casing day that is being organized in the premises of school along with the Parent Teacher Conference (PTC).
Welcome isle.

A same theme is given to the school and each class is supposed to come up with an interesting idea according to the theme. Teachers and students work together on their project. This year the theme was Literary Festival, in which all the classes of that particular campus had done a fabulous job *thumbs up*. The dedication of students and hard work of teachers was clearly seen over there.
The entrance pass was well decorated with the picture of some great poets and pieces of poetry, which gave the feel of the particular theme on the very entrance.
The entrance.

After the beautiful entrance there were the projects of every class that were being displayed there, the students were wearing different costumes according to their projects.

kids dressed up like pirates.
Their project was depicting the movie "The Pirates of the Caribbean".
Handsome pirates :p
Then there was the project by another class, their project was depicting the railway station (one of their Urdu chapter). It was a beautiful train where all the passengers were pretty sensible and mannerable. Many of the passengers were busy in reading as it was the literally festival *smile*. The potters were very co-operative.Moreover there was a stall in that railway as well.

Robert Frost's poem "Stopping by the Woods on a Snowy Evening" was beautifully depicted. The woods were beautifully made and the students were very confident in giving the information about Frost.

Another class had made the project on the poetry of Allama Iqbal.

Another class had portrayed their novel (horror novel) Room 13 by wearing the costumes of  the draculas.

Shakespeare, the father of English, best known for his tragedy plays. Boys of LGS had beautifully picturized one of the best tragic play of Shakespeare i.e. Macbeth. The costumes the boys were wearing were simply out class, up to the mark and very well carried. The props and the posters they have made were out standing. The co-ordination between the teacher and the students was really very good.

Now the amazing part was when I suddenly heard the beautiful beats of dhool (one of my favorite musical instrument). I at once turned around saw and a group of students wearing black kutras and lachas along with red turbans were moving forward having beautiful bhangra totally shocked me and other people who were around there as none of us expecting this. Those lovely dhool beats took that event to another level. Well I was totally captured by that act performance that I turned my camera on movie mood and forgot to take the pictures *sad*.
Finally moving forward, people over there were busy in making videos of that beautifully organized bhangra, at once I heard the soothing sound of Taj Dar-e-Haram by Atif Aslam (the hit track of Coke Studio 8). What I witnessed was totally mesmerizing. The students had come up with a very very unique idea of Coke Studio. The students were fully loaded with their props and musical instruments. Dresses up according to the requirement. The participants were actually enjoying their act themselves. That qawali was actually a big treat to everyone who was there.

So overall, it was a great event conducted by LGS Fsd. The projects were very good. Each and every project and act was the testimony of teachers' and students' hard work. It was the proof that how teachers and students work dedicatedly along with the collaboration of the co-ordinators. It was the fruit of the vice Principal, Mr. Mehmood's patience who dealt with the petty matters that boys usually raise when working together. Above all the beautiful event was a crystal clear evidence of the trust that the Principal, Mrs. Shahida Tariq  have on her students and faculty members. She is just like a mother to everyone who are working or getting education in the premises of school.
A big thumbs up to all the faculty members and students of LGS Fsd. Bundles of best wish to all of u for ur future. :)
Adios.
