Actor in Law

Pakistan media industry has been doing a lot of effort to excel in various fields. There was a time when Pakistani film was at it's peak but then a time came when film industry faced a huge disastrous downfall. It was the time when films with the names "Qatil Haseena", "Wehshi Gujjar", "Sultana Daku", "Mr. Faradia", "Jungle Queen" used to come in the market. There is a particular group of people who used to watch such films but now as the time has changed. People don't want to see such film with that much of voilence. Such films actually made our film industry to face heap disgrace. Our film makers are working hard to revive the film industry.

So coming to the most awaited film till now, Actor in Law. The film is awesome and so is the cast, Fahad Mustafa as Shan Mirza played the lead role. Mehwish Hayat as Meenu Screwala played the role of a journalist, she was a Parsi girl and very out spoken. Om Puri as Advocate Rafaqat Mirza, Shan's father, who never won a single case in his whole career just because of his pride and honesty.
Shan is a dropped out law student as his passion was to become an actor and earn fame. He is not willing to do any other stuff except acting and in the film he struggled hard to get a chance in any film or drama.
One day he got a chance in a film as a boss of Humayun Saeed but here he was only supposed to deliver only one line which he fails to do so  as he kept on correcting Saeed on his wrong dialogue. Shan was kicked out of the studio. The director scolded  him and said him that he was trying to be over smart and can never become an actor. That statement broke him badly and he left the studio with heavy heart and tears in his eyes. Shan went to the premises of court to collect his father's documents from there as his parents went to perform Hajj and from there his life took a change. As a group of labors came to him to fight for them as they thought he was a lawyer because he was dressed up like that. Shan first refused and said he is not a lawyer but when he saw the faces of those poor men he took up their case with fountained eyes. He entered in the court room and when it was his turn to defend his clients he said all those lines that Humayun Saeed was supposed to say while shooting from where Shan was kicked out. After those powerful lines the judge said to him "tmhain to actor hona chahiye" (you should be an actor) and this statement of that judge changed Shan's life. He won the case and got hit in the masses and in the media afterwards. He used to go to court daily not to earn money by fighting cases but to act his heart out.
His way was wrong but work was right as he was fighting for the poor free of cost moreover the issues he raised has become our national issues now, like load shedding, wall chalking etc. He even raised his voice against politicians. Meenu also helped him.
A time came when politicians offered him a huge amount of money and asked him to join their party and he refused all that by saying "mai public interest k liye larta hn or ap ka to public main koi interest he ni ha" (I fight for public interest and you have no interest in public at all) this is one of the powerful most dialogue.
He also raised voice against sexual harassment and child labor as well. But obviously he was not a real lawyer and somehow through media his reality was exposed that he was a struggling actor. Media turned against him and his family had to face heap disgrace, he was kicked out of his own home. But by the end his father Rafaqat Mirza realized that what his son was doing being a lawyer though a fake one was something appreciate-able and he fought his case and won that only single case in his whole life.
Over all Actor in Law a must watch movie. 1st half of the movie is really remarkable, 2nd half is bit slow but good. Cinematography is outstanding. Story line is up to the mark. Songs are lovely. Fahad's acting was outclass but in some scene his make up was a not good. Lipcolor was not good in few scenes and it seems like his make up artist had applied a lot of make on his face. Mehwish Hayat did a great job and Om Puri a senior most actor so one can't doubt his acting. Films shows that how much power media and social media have.
Nabeel Qureshi has contributed something great in the revival of Pakistani films. A movie in which you don't need your mind to join the sequence but still at the end u'll come out of the hall with something new and different in your mind. There are a lot more things in the movie that are to be seen only.
